Thanks for visiting Crumblog, the wedding and portrait blog for Robert Crum Photography...

Nicole and Mike got married at McMenamin’s Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in Hillsboro, and really, everyone had way too much fun! Nicole had a smile a mile wide, and even Mike, who’s congenitally averse to overt grinning, couldn’t help himself.

Top hats! The boyz wore top hats and tails! You don’t see that much anymore….Very British looking…With the green, sunny fairways of the golf course in the background (our venue for this wedding was the stately and elegant Mansion at the Bayou Golf Course in McMinnville, Oregon), one could squint and imagine one were in England, in Dorset maybe, and this Edwardian chap in his top hat and long coat had stepped out of the dusty pages of a Henry James novel to take the the hand of his belle in marriage.

The gazebo was swathed in chiffon. The vows were moistened with a light rain. Umbrellas swayed above the guests.

Andrea and Steve and I walked in the golf course in the honey-light of sunset. As a photographer, you have to love a couple who jump when you say jump, and lie down when you say lie down, as below.

At the reception, Andrea and Steve did the money dance, and walked away covered in currency.

Some vendors deserve mention:

  • Wild Pear of Salem delivered and served a table full of cakes.
  • Gay Stewart of Roses Remembered, of Dallas, Oregon, did all the decorating.
  • Steve Cox of Velocity Studios, from McMinnville, covered the ceremony in video.
  • Jim Bratcher of High Voltage Sound in McMinnville (503-560-7451) spun the tunes.
  • Syvia Runge of McMinnville designed and made all the dresses: 503.435.1809.

You could add a hundred exclamation marks to the title of this post, and it still wouldn’t convey the excitement of Anne and Chris exhibited as they walked down the aisle together after saying their vows. Held at Garden in the Woods in Albany, Oregon (much nearer Corvallis, actually), the ceremony itself took place on the porch of their new little tea house on the shore of the pond.
